Plot[]
One New Year’s Day, Sewashi climbs out of Nobita’s desk drawer alongside Doraemon, and wishes Nobita a Happy New Year. Sewashi offers Doraemon as a gift to Nobita, but Nobita rejects him, finding Doraemon weird-looking and the fact that they came out of a desk drawer creepy. Tamako asks Nobita to mail a letter for her, which he doesn’t want to do because of how cold it is outside. Sewashi and Doraemon then go outside, and come back with Doraemon carrying a mail box. Nobita mails the letter, and Doraemon returns the mail box. It begins to rain, and Nobita suggests that they get an umbrella to Nobisuke. Doraemon volunteers, but darts out of the house without taking an umbrella. He returns with a dripping wet Nobisuke on his back, and tells Nobita to give him the umbrella.

- This is the first time Doraemon is seen on walking in a quadrupedal fashion (In the panel where he goes into the rain to get Nobisuke).
