Doraemon+ (Plus) Volume 1, Chapter 14: A Lucky Bee is the fourteenth chapter in the first volume of Doraemon+ (Plus) manga.

Summary[]

Nobita gets scolded by Tamako for getting his shirt dirtied twice in a day and must now finish all the chores she has given to him without going through the same thing the third time, else he will face her wrath. When the bad luck inevitably happens on courtesy of Gian and Suneo, Doraemon steps in to stop this chain of miseries before Nobita gets punished for something he doesn't deserve.

Plot[]

Nobita returns from a baseball match with his clothes all dirty, much to Tamako's irritation. After giving Nobita a new pair of shirt and pants, Tamako prepares to ask him to do some chores but Nobita sneaks out of the house as he wants to go play with Shizuka instead. Unfortunately, Nobita runs into Gian and Suneo who proceed to chase him as they had lost the match, causing Nobita to flee across a giant puddle back home, all dirty again.

After receiving a series of serious scolding from Tamako, Nobita is given several tasks to do before he can go out to play: go shopping for groceries, watering the garden, and throwing away a couple of large boxes, all of which must be done without getting his shirt dirtied the third time. Though against it at first, Nobita chooses to comply due to him fearing Tamako's wrath and heads out to finish his shopping task, declining to play with the passing by Shizuka, which impresses Doraemon who secretly follows him. However, Nobita's string of bad lucks starts up once again with a passing boy dirtying his cloth with a chocolate ice cream, and Gian and Suneo stealing his grocery bag for amusement and forcing him to chase after them.

Not willing to let Nobita receive an unfair punishment, Doraemon brings out a Helping Bee to save Nobita from this predicament. To do so, the gadget chases after Nobita (who believes it to be a real bee) towards a cleaning store owner who accidentally throws water on him while he is cleaning the front of his store. The owner apologizes to Nobita and has him take a bath while he cleans up his clothes, which Nobita reluctantly does so but still worries that he will not be able to get his three jobs done on time. Meanwhile, the gadget heads to the Open Lot where Gian and Suneo are, and proceeds to chase them toward the grocery store, causing Gian to tumble down and the shopping list to fall out of the bag. Seeing the list, the shop owner believes they're here to buy from him, resulting in Gian and Suneo having to pay for Nobita's grocery. Finally, the gadget once again chases them toward Nobita's house, causing Gian to drop the grocery bag in the living room and him and Suneo fleeing into the garden, trying to fight the bee with a hose and water, watering the garden in the process. Seeing that the gadget isn't going away easily, Suneo suggests Gian to use the boxes in the garden as protection and flee the house, taking away the boxes to the trash site where the gadget finally leaves them and returns to Doraemon.

After cleaning himself up, Nobita receives his washed clothes back from the cleaning store owner and begins to head home, worrying about the oncoming punishment. To Nobita's surprise, Tamako instead praises him for getting all the jobs done wonderfully while also keeping his cloth squeaky clean, and rewards him with extra allowance money as the satisfied Doraemon smiles on this outcome.
