Plot[]

Nobisuke return home dead drunk once again, troubling Tamako and waking up Nobita and Doraemon. After Nobita brings Nobisuke a glass of water, he askes him to buy a radio-controlled motorcar, only to get scolded about his school grade. Before thing could get out of control, Tamako sends Nobita back to his room.

Unhappy about Nobisuke's irresponsibility and strictness, Nobita says to Doraemon that once he becomes a father himself he'll alway be kind, understanding, and gives his child what they want, something that Doraemon finds it hard to believe that Nobita can do. Wanting to check out what kind of father he will be, Nobita uses the "Time Machine" to go visit himself in 25 years, having known of his address from the previous trip.

At the future Nobita's house, Nobita witnesses his future son Nobisuke Jr. being denied by future Shizuka from going to a midnight concert event, with his future self having yet to come home. Feeling sorry for Nobisuke Jr. and wanting to wait for his future self, Nobita proposes to swap place with with future son and lets the latter go enjoy himself which Nobisuke Jr. agrees. Future Nobita eventually returns home, but fully drunk in a not so different state as his father before him, greatly shocking Nobita in how his future self behaves, though he argues to himself that company partying is unavoidable as an adult. After escaping back to Nobisuke Jr.'s room, Nobita finds his future son's diary describing how strict his future self is in raising Nobisuke Jr. and always scolds him whenever he fails in class, horrifying him.

While trying to calm himself outside, Nobita is met by his future self and, after a bit of nostalgic conversation, proceeds to expresse his disbelief in him for being such a failure despite having wonderful wife and son, causing future Nobita to cry and beg for forgiveness. However, once he begins to sober, future Nobita replies that his past self should also understand what went through his life in all the passed years, as life of repeating failure and realization will not lead one to the highest position, the only thing that he was able to fix so far was his myopia, and that this kind of life will perhap repeat forever, which depresses Nobita further.

Seeing that his past self feels so down, future Nobita tells him that not all is bad as he thinks, as Shizuka and Nobisuke Jr. are the best family he have, and it's not like that his life can't improve any further since for him it's still only the beginning, and as long as both of them never give up then things will sure to turn out fine. Hearing future Shizuka calling him, future Nobita parts with Nobita, promising to keep this conversation to heart forever. Though Nobita is still unsure if he'll be able to change, Doraemon believes that even if it happens a bit by bit, it will sure to happen.
