Anime[]

The 1979 anime aired in Canal Panda starting in 2000 in the Castillian Spanish dub with subtitles in Portuguese, the same anime also aired on RTP channels, RTP1 and RTP2, from 2001 to 2003 with a European Portuguese dub made by Somnorte. In 2009, Canal Panda aired the first 4 episodes of the 2005 anime and Panda Biggs aired the same series subtitled until 2010 when they started to air the first 101 episodes of the 1979 anime, while Canal Panda aired the rest of the episodes with a new European Portuguese dub made by Santa Claus Audiovisual until 2014, when Cartoon Network bought the rights to the two anime series and aired them from 2015 to 2018, but with censorship edits in some episodes and some unaired episodes due to Warner Bros. Discovery (formerly known as WarnerMedia and Turner)'s current censorship policy. It was later aired on Boomerang (now Cartoonito), including the 1979 anime, from 2019 to 2023 with the same censorship policy. Later in that year, the 2005 anime returned to Cartoon Network. Both anime series were also available in Luk Internacional's official Doraemon YouTube channel called "Doraemon em Português" (formerly known as "O Oficial Doraemon").[1] It uploads every episode in each Wednesday of the week and it shows uncensored episodes of both anime series, including the unaired ones on Warner Bros. Discovery channels. The 2005 anime is also available on Max (formerly known as HBO Max and HBO Portugal).[2]
