Haruo (known as Masashi Noda in the 1979 anime) is one of Nobita's classmates who often appears with Yasuo. He is moderately fat but is smaller than Gian. Much like Yasuo, he appears fairly often as a representative of Nobita's friends. He is often credited in the movies as Boy B (少年B).
Appearance[]
Haruo is a stout boy who is usually wearing a dark salmon T-Shirt in the 2005 anime, and trousers. In the 1979 anime, he wears a light blue shirt.
Personality[]
Haruo is usually neutral but can sometimes be toxic as he teams up with Tadashi to tease Nobita. Though mostly he is a victim like him.

Yasuo seems to be Haruo's best friend. Most of the time they are seen together, such as in the 2005 anime version of Gian Stew.
Takeshi Gouda[]
Haruo was almost submissive to Gian.

- In the 1979 anime, his name was Masashi Noda.
- Another background character in the 1979 anime was also named Masashi, except that this character had only one prominent appearance in the 1979 anime, along with his friend Kurai
- It is possible that Haruo and the 1979 Masashi may have been drafted as the same character, but were made into two different characters later on, since Haruo and Masashi had the same name in the 1979 anime and looked similar.
- His endurance is weaker than Suneo'
- He is the tallest boy compared to other boys.
- In manga version of Doraemon: Nobita and Birth of Japan, it revealed that Haruo have owned a bulldog name Buku.
