I Don't Like Shizuka Being Like This! is an episode of the Doraemon 2005 anime. It is a television original.

Plot[]

The episode begins with the Copy Robot Shizuka whipping out taunts. As he blames Doraemon, the latter reminds Nobita has asked for his help and any accompanying consequences. Immediately Nobita cries, admitting the duplicated Shizuka is too eccentric for him.

Several hours ago, Nobita has just finished crafting a vase for Shizuka's birthday. Doraemon is curious, and quickly horrified by its macabre quality, with his Dorayaki falling out of his hand. He tries to mask his opinion but mistakes for a jar, which further exacerbates Nobita depression when he reveals its purpose. As Doraemon collapses in chagrin, Nobita recognizes the gravity of the situation and begins to wail, knowing his will pale in light of presents given by others - Suneo a French handbag, Gian a pallet of soap, Dekisugi's sewn handkerchief - all while Doraemon repeatedly attempts to console him. He decides to seek an alternative, and Doraemon offers the Spy Satellite to conduct espionage when Nobita ends up clueless. They guide the probe to her house and overhear Shizuka occupied with too many tasks at once, wishing another dupe of herself to offload work. To Nobita's surprise, Doraemon offsets that with the Copy Robot. He briefly explains its functionality of replicating attributes from its user, and Nobita experiments with himself, showcasing the full spectrum of his lethargy, of which he attempts to deny. Doraemon pushes its nose and reverts the bot to default. Nobita deems it suitable and they head to the Minamoto household.

Though Shizuka remarks they have arrived too early, Nobita instead asks her to activate the Copy Robot, which now mimics herself. She is immediately delighted after learning its purpose, although Nobita defers from answering as to how they became aware of her toils as the espionage probe sent by Doraemon earlier floats by casually behind them. Shizuka sends the robot with a shopping list to free herself for her piano lessons.

Doraemon is adamant on the robot's capabilities, though Nobita remains skeptical. Just then, a burdened man on a speeding bicycle closes in and they push the robot out of his way, hitting her in the head and causing a technical defect. After rebooting, the robot adopts a naughty delinquent personality and Doraemon promptly reads the instruction manual, confirming the presence of a manufacturing oversight resulting in unintended behavioral abnormalities. He remarks the relative ease in reproducing this error, while Nobita pins the blame on him. Doraemon counters Nobita, citing the latter requesting assistance from him, and Nobita wails, unable to bear with its abysmal attributes. The robot taunts them and the duo follow.

Nobita drags the robot away when it is stalled by a vegetable store owner, who was dazzled by her speech and unaware of her nature. He demands Doraemon to resolve the chaos, who is desperately flipping through the manual. They are forced to stop when Suneo and Gian are spotted right near the crossing, up a flight of stairs. Just when they're about to speed away, the robot starts enticing the two up there, and while Nobita attempts to pull her again, she collapses, causing yet another paradigm shift. Gian and Suneo, who are also unable to distinguish her from the real Shizuka, accuse Nobita of attacking her. She ends up rebooting as a crybaby, further complicating the situation as they make a sharp exit, leaving the wrathful duo in protest. Gian threatens to maul Nobita if Shizuka ever cries during her birthday and pounds Suneo instead.

Doraemon is still bewildered by the sophisticated instruction manual and Nobita proposes getting the shopping done before dealing with the robot, starting with the flowers. Suddenly, she enters an episode of despair upon seeing flowers up for sale, dismayed by the presumed cruelty required, and Doraemon simply suggests purchasing random ones. A stray dodgeball hits her in the head, and while they are relieved when she seemingly returns to her benign behavior, the robot assumes herself as a comedian and dispensing puns. She ends up teasing and embarrassing Dekisugi, who is also left confused as Nobita pulls her away. They stop at a seafood vendor to figure something, with the robot continuing to joke around just as the real Shizuka passes. As she attempts to display her humor to Shizuka, Nobita and Doraemon withdraw with the bot, and Shizuka is puzzled, while the vendor mistakes her for the machine. During their escape, Nobita stops as Doraemon finally locates the proper reset method - hitting it 40 degrees from the middle it its back to the right side. Nobita does so just as Shizuka approaches, and while they try to mask her from the various disastrous events, unstable jolts force Nobita to hit again, and the machine seemingly resumes proper mimicry. Aware of the mechanical defects potentially causing trouble for Shizuka, they offer to decommission the bot as her purpose has been served, though Shizuka decides to occupy it further, claiming demand for an assistant. Nobita and Doraemon tentatively agree, assuming the defect curbed. Shizuka specifies the timeframe of her party, and as she walks away, Nobita has a calamitous premonition. Doraemon comments even if it does occur, they would be helpless to prevent that as they've gifted the robot to her already. Meanwhile, the Copy Robot Shizuka makes a sinister smile.

Shizuka thanks the robot for helping her to prepare a cake, and as she clarifies the importance of birthday celebration, the rogue robot declares its malicious intentions - desiring the same experience, she seeks to replace Shizuka, knowing its appearance is foolproof. The robot then viciously attacks off-screen as Shizuka screams.

As Shizuka's party draws closer, Doraemon prepares to depart. Nobita is still concerned with the mechanical fault, though Doraemon assures it gone for good, and they intend to recover the robot from her in discreet when they attend. Doraemon also convinces Nobita to take the handcrafted present just in case, as otherwise it would have been made for nothing, plus Shizuka might be pleased after all, though they briefly bicker over Doraemon mistaking it for a jar instead of a vase.

Suneo, Gian, Dekisugi, Nobita and Doraemon all attend, unaware of the robot's plans. When Nobita inquires on the robot's presence, she claims to have sent the machine on another errand, and starts everything off with a violin performance, demanding applause from everyone. Dekisugi grows suspicious, only for Suneo to brush this off, claiming they should appease her on her birthday instead. It turns out the robot also retained Shizuka's vile tunes, though they bear with it nonetheless. Then, she demands them to display their presents, finding Suneo's bag unremarkable, Gian's soap shoddy and crude, while not even opening Dekisugi's gift. As she asks for Nobita's gift, he is reluctant, but Doraemon insists, citing the robot does not perfectly replicate Shizuka and this might give the machine away. The robot despises the vase and throws it on the ground, shocking everyone present. Nobita declares the robot as an impostor, and while everyone accuses him of aggravating Shizuka, Nobita retorts this with the robot's disturbing behavior. Doraemon was quick to recognize this as well. With her cover blown, the robot is unable to disguise herself any longer and escapes after a few weak rebuttals, with Nobita and Doraemon in pursuit. Dekisugi, Suneo and Gian remain puzzled until they hear thumping behind the storeroom door, finding Shizuka - who has broke herself from the inner room - bound and gagged, thus validating Doraemon and Nobita's statements. She is presumably rescued.

Meanwhile, Doraemon and Nobita pursue the robot to an elementary school light music concert, where she terrorizes the audience with another nasty, piercing sound. She continually outruns them due to copying Shizuka's athletic attributes, and Doraemon wonders if baiting her is easier. Inspired by this, Nobita grabs and throws some mud, staining one of her socks. As she disappears, Doraemon laments on their failure, but Nobita remains triumphant and makes a confident grin.

As expected by Nobita, the robot - much like Shizuka herself - attempts to take a bath. They return just in time and restrain her with a net, then Nobita hits the robot's nose, and the robot returns to its default state. As they celebrate, the duo begin to panic when they realize they forgot to ask where Shizuka is held, before the real Shizuka returns, with Suneo explaining what happened back there. Gian and Dekisugi both demand an explanation, but she unexpectedly embraces Nobita, much to the embarrassment of everyone. Suddenly, Shizuka demands to know why are they in her bathroom, and Nobita explains everything to them presumably.

Despite learning the truth, Gian and Suneo are both agitated for the earlier incident, while Dekisugi calms them as everything returned to normal. Nobita apologizes, but Shizuka blames herself for excessive reliance on the machine in spite of his and Doraemon's subtle warnings. It turns out Shizuka still accepts Nobita's handmade gift out of gratitude and correctly refers to it as a vase, much to Nobita's comfort.

Doraemon proposes restarting the event all over again. As they are about to have a toast with orange juice, though, Shizuka decides to play her violin yet again, causing their glasses to all topple in dismay. The monstrous sound continues to plague them as Doraemon comments on the robot's identical skills, though Nobita gives a more positive remark, praising the real Shizuka instead, as the episode ends.
