Ken is a college-age boy and a minor character in the series. He used to be a childhood friend of Shizuka's. He appeared in the 1979 anime episode Long Time No See Trunk.

Ken has wavy-ish black hair, black eyes, and dark peach skin. He was seen wearing a college uniform in Long Time No See Trunk.

Ken appears to be hardworking and good at studies, which may be a reason Shizuka is so fond of him.

They were childhood friends and always played together when Shizuka was in kindergarten and Ken possibly in primary school. Shizuka was extremely sad when he had to move away, and clung to him and said "I want to go with you!"

- In the Bengali dub his name is changed to Shumon.
- Shizuka refers to him as Onii-chan or Ken-niichan.
