LUK International S.A. (or LUK Internacional) is an Spanish distribuitor based in Barcelona, Spain, founded in 1979. The company is famous because of the relations with Japanese companies Tokyo TV and Sunrise, so LUK brought to Spain and Portugal famous Japanese series like Doraemon and Crayon Shin-chan (marketed as Shin Chan). In addition, it has distributed some series like Reborn!, Keroro Gunso (Sgt. Frog), Jewelpet, The Adventures of Blinky Bill, Black Jack, Snoopy, Twipsy or Garfield and Friends, to several Spanish and Portuguese TV channels like Canal 9 or RTP.
Relations with Doraemon[]
Since 1993, the franchise was licensed in Spain by LUK International S.A. The 1979 series and 2005 series was dubbed in five local languages and distributed to many local TV channels and was still ongoing popular as of today.
Since 2000s, LUK International S.A. also licensed and distributed the anime franchise to France and Portugal, and in 2010s, it also distributed the 2005 anime series to Israel, Poland and Turkey to Disney television channels such of Disney Channel and Disney XD in those European countries.
