Meba (メーバ Mēba) is one of the antagonists in the 2015 movie, Nobita's Space Heroes.
Story[]
Meba, along with Hyde & Ogon convince the Pokkuru Planet councillor to let them improve the land and re-open as Pokkuru Land. Aron, one of the planet's sheriff, takes suspicious with their actions and investigates their true purpose. While investigating, a guard (which is a disguised space pirate) spots him and chases him however, Aron escapes. Meba captures both Aron & Nobita, who eavesdrop the Space Pirates' conversation.
Later, Meba tries to kill Aron but Gian punches her hard. Later, Shizuka finishes Meba with her Super Hot Spring Beam deforming her into an amoeba.
Appearance[]
Manga[]
In the manga, Meba is a female warrior in a full set of armor, along with gloves and shoulder pads.
Anime[]
Normal[]
Meba is a slim bright cerulean-skinned woman with light yellow eyes (lined with violet conjuntivia and without eye brows) dressed in chocolate brown accessories. She bears a helmet armor with rose edges, featuring her long, freely blowing hair. Unlike her Manga counterpart, Meba's appearance in the anime is more feminine and pirate-like, exposing the topless upper body covered by brassiere fixed with coils of chain, and detachable sleeves wrapped on both forearms, while still retaining traits of a warrior such as gladiator skirt and a pair of knee-high boots. Similar to other members of Space Pirate, she wears a Pirate Belt on her waist, attached with a pocket seemingly holding some sort of ranged weapon.
Disguised[]
In disguise, Meba spots a more formal look, akin to a business woman, with her hair tied clean into two pigtails decorated by rose ribbons. She wears a long sleeve black work dress constricted by a golden belt, lined by a white shirt underneath, dark magenta glasses, and shiny black-purle boots. Meba in this guise also sports sharp eye brows and goblin ears identical to Hyde.
Personality[]
Anime[]
Meba is proclaimed as Ruthless Girl because of her abusive actions. As the title implied, she is a stereotypical femme fatale, showing nothing but contemptous demeanor and dominance over men, as seen she lashed out two sailors for not getting her command and allows only co-leaders to be permitted to talk to her.
Meba also showed a sadistic and taunting personality towards the innocence, in which she satirely described just thinking about joyful faces of Pokkuru's inhabitants turning into full of despair and panic to be "give her goosebumps".
Manga[]
Her manga counterpart is the most serious and ruthless member of Ikaros's subordinates and relies more on her combat ability rather than feminine wile and manipulation like in the movie.
Abilities[]
Anime[]
- Water Physiology: In both versions, Meba is shown to have a liquid body, virtually impervious to conventional damage. While in the manga, she can be completely evaporated when in exposure to high temperatures, her counterpart in the anime remains in a more sustainable gelatin form.
- Body Control: Due to being made of water, Meba's body is extremely mallable, capable of changing the shape and size however she wants. She can stretch her limb into tendril or reforming herself in the form resemble python snake to tighten up enemies. In manga, this ability is solely limited to her arm.
- Shapeshifting: Meba has great control over her water body, allowing her to manifest complex structures out of it, such as creating wings behind head, turning her arm into a whip, and changing the appearance (including clothing/accessories and hair) to disguise.
- Inhuman Speed: Meba can move at very high speeds, similar to a kind of reptile, and quickly slither through corners as seen after being reduced into an amoeba.
Manga[]
- Appendage Creation: Meba can generate additional limbs to support in combat, with these parts functional and elastic the same as her real limbs.
- Regenerative Replication: After being splitted, Meba's drop particles can self-regenerate into full bodies of the orginal form.
- Flight: Thanks to their nature being smaller particles of Meba, Meba's clones can freely move in mid-air akin to water's molecules.

Trivia[]
- She is similar to Chaos from Sonic the Hedgehog, as both of them have similar body color and composition and both had the ability to transform themselves from the very start.
- Since Meba's body is entirely water, it's unknown if she can return to human form by replenishing water or not.
- The idea of Meba turning into an amoeba when being dehydrated takes after Suu in Monster Musume.
- Her name is a pun for Amoeba, a monocellular organism that is known for the ability to control its mass, suggested by her's shapeshifting ability and the dollop-like form after the human body being disintegrated.
